I just found out that there is a group that gathers at U-stream every Friday night to watch Molly videos and chat. Here is the info for anyone that wants to join in. Instructions are there as to how it works (you need to click on "More" to see them).

During the showing of videos from Carlos of the different clutches of Molly and McGee, there are door prizes and sometimes a trivia question about the owl family.

There is also a photo Caption Contest every week. I (meaning Carl) have won three of these contests and have received some great prizes including a picture of Molly & McGee on a tile and a neat owl pendant.

In order to receive instructions on this contest, you will have to send your email address to: mollymovienight@gmail.com.

This is all set up by two of our favorite MODs, Sacto (Sylvia Oey) and Kestra (Kathy Stansbury).

Every Wednesday evening you will get an email message about the weeks photo caption contest. It will show you a picture (sometimes doctored) of an owl or a bunch of owls and give you instructions on how to submit your funny caption. IE: what are they doing? What are they saying? The entry deadline is Thursday at noon.

Are you in Arizona? Do you know any owl fans in Arizona? Do you know any owl fans that travel through or to Arizona?

Nora aka Noralee lives in Tucson. She is one of three ladies that organized a mini meet up at the McDonalds off of Interstate 10 in Casa Grande last year. She would love to get together with owl fans in Arizona.

One of the things she is working on is a trip to a wild life center in the Tucson area.

Yes, Elephant Bar lunch is still the 3rd Saturday - assemble around 10:30 / 10:45, so we can be ready when they open at 11 am.

At the December 17th San Diego Owl Fan lunch at the Elephant Bar in San Marcos, we have an owl exchange opportunity drawing.  

This is NOT a gift exchange, do not wrap them, and bring one or two.  I would suggest maximum price of $10, though lower prices are encouraged. Here is how I want to play the owl raffle game for December, and we can make adjustments if you want to for January. Yes - by special request, we will do this at two EB lunches in a row. Bring one, or two, owls for the raffle table.  You "buy" a raffle ticket when you bring an owl.  I have two, so I will get two tickets.  And to make it more fair, if you are bringing two like I will be, there will be drawing one and drawing two. I will have "tickets" which are pieces of paper with numbers.  We will start in order.  Whoever has 1 gets first choice, 2 gets second choice.  Yes, I know there is a similar game where when your number comes up, so to speak, you can choose what someone already chose, but this is "my' game this month, so humor me.  What you see on the table is what you get to choose from.  You cannot take what someone else already chose. And one friendly caution, if your owl gets picked last, don't fret about it. It has nothing to do with you...this is just fun among friends.

Then, by request, we will be doing it again in January in case someone gave you a duplicate or you saw owls at holiday sales.  If adjustments need to be made to the game, we have January to do it.

Think about for upcoming San Diego Owl Fan get togethers.

This is directed at those of you that have not been able to make it to our get togethers.  A couple of my friends and I were talking about all the birds in our yard, sitting watching the birds come and go, etc.  Then we started talking about the people we know that can't get away from their homes due to someone they care for or other reasons.  So here is the idea.  If you are one of those that cannot get away from your own home to join us, can we come to your place and join you for a couple of hours of visiting?  We promise to bring our own chairs and friendly smiles, and snacks / drinks if we want them.  All you need to provide, as Janet said it when she invited us to the book party, is an indoor bathroom we can use if nature calls. LOL  I am guessing that even if you live in an apartment, there is a patch of green near you where you, or us, can sit and watch the birds.  I could have you come out to my porch for example

So think about it. Watch the comings and goings of the birds in your yard or green space.  We can bring the get together to you.
