A Tribute to Kelly

Submitted by Melody

This was a poem I remember from years ago, author unknown......it's originally about the loss of a child:

I couldn't get the words of the poem out of my mind today thinking of the little owlet (Kelly).

So I changed it a bit. Apologies to the unknown author

So here's my version

When God calls little owlets

To dwell with him above,

We mortals sometime question

The wisdom of His love.

Perhaps God tires of calling

The aged to His fold,

So He picks a little owlet

Before it can grow old.

God knows how much we need them,

And so He takes but few

To make the land of Heaven'

More beautiful to view.

Believing this is difficult

Still somehow we must try,

The saddest word mankind knows

Will always be 'Good-bye'.

So when a little owlet departs,

We who are left behind

Must realize God loves owls too, and

ANGELS ARE HARD TO FIND.
