April 13-14
Carlos was away overnight to celebrate his mother's 95th b-day. That night, the infrared cameras died. But over 2,000 people continued to watch, peering into the dark of the owl box (the daytime interior camera was still on). It was discovered that if you made the picture full screen and tilted the monitor just so, you could make out Molly in the dark. At the SPO chat stream, Merritt encouraged everyone to use the time to write poetry and the night gave rise to the practice of spontaneously composing and posting Haiku. The next day, the chat stream was a wall of tributes to Carlos, his mother, ane the entire Royal Clan!
